Unit 1: The Mind of Christ (Weeks 1-4)

Week 1: Unity and Encouragement

  • Scripture: Philippians 2:1-2

  • The Big Idea: Service starts with being of the same mind. We are on the same team, fueled by the same Spirit.

  • Discussion: Why is unity in the church so essential before we try to serve the world?

Week 2: The Count

  • Scripture: Philippians 2:3-4

  • The Big Idea: Count others more significant. This is the math of the Kingdom—treating others like treasure.

  • Discussion: Who is someone in your life that is hard to "count as more significant"?

Week 3: The Descent

  • Scripture: Philippians 2:5-8

  • The Big Idea: Joy is found in downward mobility. Jesus used His status to serve.

  • Discussion: What does stepping down to serve look like in your busy professional life?

Week 4: The Exaltation

  • Scripture: Philippians 2:9-11

  • The Big Idea: The Father honors the Servant. We serve in the darkness because we know the end of the story is full of light and victory.

  • Discussion: How does knowing the victory is already won give you patience to serve today?

Unit 2: Vocation (Weeks 5-8)

Week 5: Joy in the Home

  • Scripture: Colossians 3:18-24

  • The Big Idea: The most difficult service is often to those we live with. Changing a diaper, listening to a spouse, or honoring parents is serving the Lord Christ and glorifying God.

  • Discussion: Which household task do you despise the most? How can you reframe it as worship?

Week 6: Joy in the Workplace

  • Scripture: Colossians 3:22-25

  • The Big Idea: Your work is God’s mask—He is loving people through your hands. Whether you are a CEO or a student, your work is a sacred vocation and a means to glorify God.

  • Discussion: How can you be a "priest" in your specific workplace or daily routine this week?

Week 7: Joy in the Church

  • Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

  • The Big Idea: Joy comes from staying in your lane and using your specific spiritual gift to build up the body.

  • Discussion: What specific contribution (gift) do others tell you that you are good at?

Week 8: Joy in Society (The Outsider)

  • Scripture: James 2:1-9

  • The Big Idea: True service is blind to status. We serve the poor and the rich with the same dignity.

  • Discussion: How does looking at someone through the lens of "what can they do for me?" kill the joy of serving them?

Unit 3: Endurance (Week 9)

Week 9: When Joy Fades (Burnout)

  • Scripture: Galatians 6:7-10

  • The Big Idea: The remedy for weariness is returning to the source (Series 1). We do not grow weary in doing good because we know the harvest is coming.

  • Discussion: What are your warning signs that you are burning out? How can this group help you rest?
