Week 1: United in Baptism

  • Scripture: Romans 6:1-11

  • The Big Idea: Your Christian identity is a received gift, not an achieved goal. We were buried with Christ and raised to a new life.

  • Discussion:

    • Do you tend to view your relationship with God based on how well you behaved this week?

    • How does knowing you are "united" with Jesus change how you handle failure?

Week 2: Christ in Me

  • Scripture: Galatians 2:20

  • The Big Idea: The Christian life is habitation, not imitation. It is Christ living through you, not you trying harder.

  • Discussion:

    • What is the difference between trying to be a "good person" vs. letting Christ live through you?

    • What burden can you consciously put down this week, knowing Christ carries it?

Week 3: The Vine and the Branches

  • Scripture: John 15:1-5

  • The Big Idea: Fruit is a byproduct of connection, not effort. Our "job" is simply to abide—to stay connected to Jesus through His Word.

  • Discussion:

    • What does "striving" look like in your spiritual life? What does "abiding" look like?

    • What practices are currently nourishing your soul?

Week 4: Free from Guilt

  • Scripture: Romans 8:1-4, 31-34

  • The Big Idea: There is now no condemnation. If God justifies you, no one else is allowed to judge you—especially yourself.

  • Discussion:

    • Why is it often harder to forgive ourselves than to forgive others?

    • If you believed you had zero condemnation and are free from guilt, how would your daily stress change?

Week 5: Free from Fear

  • Scripture: Hebrews 2:14-15

  • The Big Idea: Since Jesus defeated death, the worst-case scenario for a Christian is heaven. We can live without paralyzing fear of failure or loss.

  • Discussion:

    • What is a specific fear that has been taking up space in your mind recently?

    • How does the promise of the resurrection speak to that specific fear?

Week 6: Freedom to Love (The Pivot)

  • Scripture: Galatians 5:1, 13-14

  • The Big Idea: We are set free for our neighbor. Because we don't need to worry about saving ourselves, we are free to spend all our energy serving others.

  • Discussion:

    • How does worry about ourselves keep us from noticing the needs of others?

    • Who is one person you can "serve in freedom" this week?
